Free GUIDE: 3 Simple Tools to Feel Great!

Natural Cycles of Growth & Evolution

Have you ever considered life to be a series of evolutions? Some little ones. Some giant ones.

Our human lives seem to be made up of periods of distress or disorder, followed by times of discovery, then eras of integration, leading finally to lessons and growth. Here are two examples.

ONE:

Lately, at the clinic we’ve been seeing a lot of resistance in our patients to making changes to their diets and lifestyles. (Distress.)
It’s interesting to me and I’m grateful because it invited me to go back to the foundations of my naturopathic education, and also the base principles guiding all of my naturopathic medical decisions. (Discovery.)

It’s called the Therapeutic Order which essentially is the process that takes an ill body and puts it back into healing mode. Your body is so wise. It knows how to heal and believe me when I say it only wants you to be well. I filmed two little videos about this. (Integration.)

You can watch the first one here.

You can watch the second one here.

Just as I’m teaching you this, I also need to remember it in my practice. It can be enticing to skip ahead, but there is a process to follow. An order to respect. (Growth.)

TWO:

This past fall I became aware of dissatisfaction in my life. I wrote about that here and here. (Distress).

To recover, I returned to my mission statement as a naturopathic doctor: Getting You Healthy, Happy, and Doing What You Love. I believe that healthy, happy people, doing what they love contribute to world peace.

I used to think this was a linear progression. People get healthy, then they get happier, and ipso facto, presto chango, they do what they love and ideally pursue their life calling.

Interestingly, what I’ve witnessed over and over in 12 plus years of practice is that when people do what they love, their health and happiness improves. Hmmm…

This is a question to consider. Will pursuing your life purpose improve your health and well-being? There is no way of knowing, and I can only speak to the experiences myself and of those I’ve worked with, but the evidence seems to suggest that.

Now I see this mission as a cycle instead of a line. We can intervene at any point and impact the other two variables.

I have tools in my practice to get people healthy (thank you therapeutic order). I have a personality that helps people get happy (but ultimately that’s up to you to choose), and I set out to find a thing that can help people with that third component. The doing what you love part. I found it. (Discovery).

I trained. I studied. I practiced. I started seeing clients this fall in a new line of work outside my naturopathic practice which I’m calling Soul Tonic. I am continuously blown away by the transformations in my clients’ lives and my own life. Magic is unfolding as people are stepping into themselves, reconnecting to their divine design.

Personally, I am settling nicely into peace, joy, and vitality. (Integration).

And now, it’s time for me to brush my fear aside and share this with you. (Growth).

Soul Tonic is all about helping you know who your soul was created to be and showing you how to take actions that are aligned with that spiritual blueprint. That’s where the magic happens (and has been happening for me).

If you’re curious about what’s making such a difference for me and my clients then I invite you to check out a video I put together that introduces how your anxiety or insomnia could very well be a soul-level problem. Ultimately all of my work is about reducing pain and suffering and bringing more love, joy, and health into the world. This is another way to do just that.

To your healthy, happy, delightful life,
